Lazy Day

Today is one of my laziest days ever. Somehow I managed to sleep until 11. I may not have done that since I was a teenager. My cat, who is used to breakfast by 7, tried everything to get me out of bed and to his food cabinet but I resisted until he just curled up next to me. I leisurely checked email and drank coffee and then laughed at my To Do list which included things like cleaning the house, rearranging some travel plans and  grocery shopping. Today I don’t want to do anything. I don’t even want to get dressed. I don’t want to clean, or cook, or worry about what I “should” be accomplishing. I want to accomplish nothing, in fact.

It’s important to do this once in a while, for everyone. Some people do it weekly, as a Sunday tradition. But I am way too Type A to do that. I wouldn’t enjoy myself. But today – I am enjoying myself. A walk with the dog, a little yoga and self-massage, some writing, a phone call to my sister, whatever I feel like…

I am recharging my batteries and taking care of myself so I can in turn take better care of all of my wonderful clients.

Do you ever do nothing all day and when you do, do you feel guilty? Today I am letting go of guilt and embracing laziness.

New photos + New Photographer

I had a successful photo shoot with my faithful photographer last Sunday – all elegant black & whites. I have been working with him for about a year now and he has shot the vast majority of the content on my site. I love working with him because it is comfortable and the results are consistently good. Plus, he is professional and passionate about his work.

But I have been looking to cheat on him. Like many of my relationships, this one is also NSA. However, I had a lot of concerns. For every one professional glamour photographer, there are about 1,000 creeps. Frequently the rate of that one pro is exorbitant. It’s as if they assume they are working with $1,000/hour call girl and they take advantage accordingly. One of the more famous women photographers on the scene charges $3,000 for a two-hour shoot and airbrushes the images beyond recognition and plasters her logo prominently on them. No thanks.

This week I got a great lead about an east coast photographer from a new friend. After fully reviewing his portfolio and reading about his approach along with his reviews, I have to say I cannot wait to shoot with him and that yes, word of mouth is ALWAYS the best advertising.

TER stats

I just noticed that my TER profile says that I am “really bi-sexual”.

Who decided that? I have always found TER a bit troublesome to navigate and their customer service to be unhelpful and so I do not visit the site often. I suspect that the person who wrote my first review filled in all of my stats and decided that I was bi-sexual but I am not exactly sure how it works. I do know that I have no control over editing this information.

For the record, I am not really bi-sexual. I am 100% heterosexual and I do not see women or couples. I can’t help it: I love men!
