You All Know the Story of the Other Woman

In Poetry on June 29, 2011 at 11:22 am

Anne Sexton is my favorite poet. She was married to the same man for most of her adult life and carried on numerous affairs with a wide variety of men. She fell in love easily, and frequently. This is a poem about being the “other woman” when the morning comes.

It’s a little Walden.
She is private in her breathbed
as his body takes off and flies,
flies straight as an arrow.
But it’s a bad translation.
Daylight is nobody’s friend.
God comes in like a landlord
and flashes on his brassy lamp.
Now she is just so-so.
He puts his bones back on,
turning the clock back an hour.
She knows flesh, that skin ballon,
the unbound limbs, the boards,
the roof, the removeable roof.
She is his selection, part time.
You know the story too! Look,
when it is over he places her,
like a phone, back on the hook.

Sadness

When I am sad, I give thanks. When I hurt, a small part of me rejoices.

This is what it means to be ALIVE.

The Paradox of Our Age

In Poetry on June 20, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Beautiful, sad, and dead on – words by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama:

“We have bigger houses

and smaller families:

more convenience, but less time.

We have degrees but less sense;

more knowledge, but less judgement;

more experts, but more problems;

more medicine, but less healthiness.

We have been all the way to

the moon and back,  but have trouble

crossing the street to meet

the new neighbor.

We built more computers to hold more

information to produce more

copies than ever,

but have less communication.

We have become long on quantity,

but short on quality.

These are times of fast foods,

and slow digestion;

tall man and short character;

steep profits, and shallow relationships.

It is a time when there is much in the window,

and nothing in the room.

“My Fitness Is So Attractive”

In About Escorting, For fun on June 19, 2011 at 6:41 pm

I know that these types of scams are rampant but this one made me chuckle a bit – Steve McCurry? Puh-lease! Do people really fall for these? It looks like it was written by a language translating bot.

Your Neighbor the Sex Worker

In About Escorting on June 14, 2011 at 11:57 pm

Am I the only one who is shocked by the sheer volume of bay area providers that exist? I can’t believe anyone actually finds me after weeding through the 40,714 Redbook ads for female escorts and sensual massage. I know that many of these ads are way outdated and the advertisers have long retired (RB does not delete them, ever, as far as I know) but still – that’s a lot of women in the business in the bay. And that does not even include those who advertise exclusively on Eros, Backpage, Cityvibe, or elsewhere. This is strictly a Redbook stat.

And another one just added while I wrote the first paragraph of this post for a total of 40,715 escorts, dancers, and FBSM and  BDSM providers in the San Francisco bay area. That’s a lot of hard working ladies leading double lives and men doing the same. Too bad we can’t all be out and in the open with our passion for sex and sensuality. It would take a cultural shift before that happens and the world is not ready for it – not even the super-liberal, open-minded bay area, unfortunately.

Tabitha Recommends: Smoothie Recipe

In Tabitha Recommends on June 9, 2011 at 4:51 am

I often get asked how I stay healthy. Besides drinking plenty of water, keeping my stress low, and yoga, I drink smoothies every morning. Sometimes I eat fast food or ice cream later and sometimes I skip yoga class, but I drink a smoothie every morning, even when I travel. It’s my only absolute prescription to health.

When I am home with my blender, I mix up these yummy ingredients for about two minutes:

*frozen blueberries (all the minerals and anti-oxidants you need for the day!)

*frozen strawberries (hello Vitamin C!)

*1 banana  (potassium is an electrolyte – you need them for proper water balance and blood pH)

*handful of spinach (an almost perfect food, cancer-fighter, more nutrient-dense than any other veggie)

*medium carrot or several baby carrots (vitamin A plus antioxidants plus medicinal properties – yes, they really are good for your eyes)

*one cup of apple juice  (fiber – the American diet does not contain nearly enough of it)

*2 overflowing Tablespoons of yogurt (here’s the protein part)

When I am traveling I shake up one of these – which has similar ingredients but isn’t as fresh as it is at home:

*One bottle of Odwalla Superfood (sold at Starbucks, fyi)

OR

*One bottle of Naked Green Machine

I like knowing that I’ve started my day by doing something healthy for myself Something that tastes good and that is fast and easy – which is very key in our busy, modern lifestyles. And by the way, you won’t taste the green stuff, I promise.

Here’s to your health and prosperity…

Love,

Tabitha

A Message from Jersey Juice, and God

In About Escorting, For fun, Quotes on June 6, 2011 at 4:35 am

More than a few times in the past since I have started advertising on Eros and Redbook, I have received emails from religious fanatics interested in helping me absolve my life of mortal sin and impurity. Mostly they are full of curses, condemnations, remind me of my upcoming spot burning for eternity in the flames of Hell, and are written in all caps.

Today I got a really sweet one. The tone was of humble concern. This messenger of the Lord reminded me to disregard the email if I was “pagan of other religion or not interested” and told me twice that he loved and prayed for me. He even offered to teach me about Jesus and the upcoming apocalypse at no cost.

What I liked the most were the Bible verses he included. They were beautiful. I may not be particularly religious but I love words with rhythm, images, and of course – poetry. The Bible is full of it.

All of this from a person who signed his email “Jersey Juice” and does not know the difference between your and you’re. Why do fanatics always have terrible spelling, grammar, and style?

Here are the verses. I do not endorse them or even agree with them. I just enjoy literature:

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:16-21

Thank you for sharing JJ! I loved your verses and am looking forward to burning in hell. I’m preparing for it on Earth by doing hot yoga and plenty of sunbathing.
